NATALIE KOLBE: Absolutely. In Africa with over a billion people we still get less than 1% of all global flows into venture capital. So you can see there’s a huge opportunity on the continent to attract more capital. A $200 million fund is a big fund. NATALIE KOLBE: Jimmy, we’ve got the decision-makers here based in the tech hubs of sub-Saharan Africa. We’ve a partner in Nigeria, we’ve a partner in Kenya – and I’m the partner based in South Africa. Those three markets basically make up more than 80% to 90% of all the activity in sub-Saharan Africa. So we’ve got the decision makers, and the investment committee is sitting on the ground in Africa.

NATALIE KOLBE: Jimmy, unfortunately the CNN headlines don’t do us any favours. But I think if you look below those headlines, the activity is absolutely immense on the continent. There’s a thriving ecosystem in venture capital. We’ve got unbelievable entrepreneurs that are really looking to solve some of the biggest issues that we have on the continent.
