“Due to our growing patient population and lack of expansion options at our current Strasburg facility, we quickly realized that we need to build a larger facility so we can treat patients into adulthood and serve an ever-increasing number of families,” Adam Heaps, executive director at the Clinic, said in a news release.

The Clinic for Special Children’s focus is the treatment and research of disorders identified in the Amish and Mennonite communities. However, the organization said the impact of its clinical and research work has been felt all over the world. The clinic says it has provided services to more than 5,000 patients in 44 states and 17 countries.
