No tolls hikes for these 4 major Delaware River bridges for 12th year

The Delaware River Port Authority’s board of commissioners approved a $307.5 million budget with no toll increase on Wednesday, despite a slight budget increase of $762,000.

The DRPA expects to generate a total of $314.8 million in toll revenue, a $2.8 million increase from 2022. The authority is banking on traffic recovering to a modest 92.5-93% of pre-COVID numbers, while considering remote work and a possible recession, according to the budget. The authority isn’t planning to borrow money in 2024. The agency’s $145.5 million capital budget will be financed from the general fund, budget documents said.

Compounding that is the end of federal COVID transit aid which will have been spent by the end of 2022, budget documents said. PATCO received a total of $84.4 million from the Federal Transit Administration in operating assistance to make up for lost ridership.released in February said that 37% of the 114 Philadelphia employers that responded said they’d require employees to work a minimum number of days in the office.
