'Royal College of Nursing members from the Trust will not participate in the industrial action planned for 15th and 20th December - although that could change if further action is taken in the New Year.'
No nursing strikes have been taking place at NHS hospital trusts across Lancashire today , but that could change if action occurs in the New Year, it has been confirmed.
But they said while members of the union would take action at half of the locations in England where the legal mandate for strikes was secured in November, Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust had not been selected as one of those locations. Meanwhile, NHS staff in East Lancashire are set to join a strike over the festive period. Industrial action over pay is set to take place at Mersey Care, an NHS Trust running mental health services in Whalley at the former Calderstones Hospital site. Union bosses said staff in Whalley will take industrial action on December 28.
