GUN BUYBACK: The NewYork Attorney General is hosting a series of gun buyback events throughout the state - no questions asked.
The AG called it an amnesty program to promote community safety amid a rise in gun violence in neighborhoods across the city.
Officials said any number of guns could be turned in as long as they were unloaded and placed in a bag or box. A total of $500 was exchanged for the first handgun individuals turned in, along with ghost guns and rifles. Every other handgun then went for around $150. The amount of money varied depending on the kind of gun, the style and condition. Officials also said the money was put on gift cards.
