A five-star hotel next to London’s O2 Arena is a far cry from the trenches of eastern Ukraine, but for the political and business leaders gathered there today – it was another stage from which to shape the country’s future.
Addressing the Ukraine Recovery Conference via video link, President Zelenskyy urged the West to pump in the cash needed to rebuild his war-torn country, as the UK announced three billion dollars worth of bank loan guarantees to help the city of Kyiv. One of the attendees was Rafael Grossi – head of the International Atomic Energy Agency. His job – preventing nuclear catastrophe – has been complicated by the war raging around the Zaporizhzhia Power Plant.
