More severe weather is anticipated in central Alberta during Heritage Day Monday.
The tornado was seen about five kilometres southwest of the central Alberta town. Environment Canada said it has received multiple reports and photos of the tornado but that there had not been any reports of damage by Monday morning.
The federal agency gave the tornado a preliminary rating of EF0, indicating a “weak” tornado with estimated peak wind speeds of no more than 130 km/h. Videos of the tornado show a large funnel in the distance as hail pelts down. In one video, posted by Brandon Houck and credited to Verna How Koturbash, the tornado can be seen moving across the ground for a full minute.Article content
