Makgodi Josephine Pheeha, accused of killing her boyfriend by pouring acid on him, was denied bail by the Soshanguve magistrate's court on Monday.
Pheeha, from Soshanguve, north of Pretoria, was arrested after the death earlier this month of her boyfriend Andile Charles Rasmeni, 30.Magistrate Thobela Dimbaza said Pheeha had failed to provide sufficient reasons in support of her bail application.
Speaking to TimesLIVE from his home on Friday, the scene of the alleged murder on August 8, Rasmeni’s brother Johnny, 33, said he had mentioned getting Pheeha her own place to stay. “The thing that confuses me is that the girl is pregnant with my brother’s child. I don’t even know how I feel. Each and every day I feel like it’s a new thing. I still think that it’s just a story — I am in a dream and I will wake up.”
