NJ Transit moved a total of 80,000 fans to Taylor Swift's three MetLife concerts.
Having the concerts on Memorial Day weekend, especially the Friday show, which coincided with the regular commuter rush and the holiday getaway, did present challenges, Corbett said.
One of those challenges in cities such as Philadelphia were tens of thousands of fans who didn’t have tickets who came to concerts to listen in the parking lot. Over 20,000 fans who were unable to secure ticketsState Police, MetLife stadium officials and NJ Transit discouraged that to have both parking and passenger space to accommodate ticket holders.
“I was gratified to hear my friends who took transit that they had a terrific experience,” she said. “At one point I was on the Turnpike, opposite where all the fans were, and wondered if people regretted taking their cars. It was a big traffic jam.”
