Nitro Rallycross on ice set to thrill Calgarians at Stampede Park yyc
“Nitro RallyCross marries the short-form intense racing of rally cross with the big-air thrills of nitro circus,” continued Terlizzi. “It’s like supercross on four wheels.”
“It’ll be under the lights Saturday night, too, making it very dramatic,” Terlizzi said. “It’s a completely unique environment here in Calgary. The visit to Calgary is the second in Canada — after racing on ice in Quebec two weekends back — and the penultimate stop of the 2023 Nitro Rallycross Championship schedule. The champ of the Group E class — driven by the top NitroRX racers, including Pastrana himself — will be crowned when the series returns to Los Angeles for a second swing through there in mid-March.
Those drivers of the all-electric FC1-X vehicles made by boutique-maker First Corner and QEV Technologies — nine total in the Group E class — recognize how different it will be to race in snow-covered Calgary, even with 320 one-inch studs in each tire.
