The decision by the Japanese car maker may add 30,000 units to the plant’s current annual volume of 35,000, Nissan Africa MD Mike Whitfield said at the factory north of Pretoria on Wednesday.“Automotive is already the largest part of SA’s manufacturing sector, contributing about 7% of GDP annually and accounting for a third of manufacturing output,” President Cyril Ramaphosa said at the Nissan facility in Rosslyn.
