More than 500 people have gone missing in the space of just two weeks. On Thursday 7 March this year, 287 pupils were abducted from Kuriga primary and secondary school in Kaduna State, in the country’s north-west. The region is home to no fewer than 10 armed criminal groups with around 30,000 members, according to data from the Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project .
