The First Minister, who led tributes on Sunday morning, said she hoped the people who burnt the poppies would be brought to justice.
Nicola Sturgeon has slammed the "sickening and disgraceful" behaviour of thugs who torched wreaths at the Stone of Remembrance in Edinburgh in the early hours of this morning.
Officers from Police Scotland are urging anyone with information on the incident to come forward and contact them after the wreaths were set ablaze at around 5am. “I utterly condemn this appalling act of vandalism, especially at this time of year when remembrance services have just been held across the country.
Ahead of the event on Sunday, the First Minister said it was important to remember those who made the "ultimate sacrifice" to secure freedom.
