“He always said that whatever we were doing in life, he would support us.”
Two Co Down sisters will take on a marathon challenge later this month in memory of their "wonderful dad" almost two years after his sudden death.
Niamh, 26, whose idea it was to take on the challenge, told Belfast Live: "Dad had got up that morning and just got to the top of our estate when he had a major heart attack. Niamh, an e-commerce executive, said her older sister Aisling, 28, a Down Senior Ladies Player, was still living in Leeds studying for her teaching degree when their dad passed away.
“The training has been going ok but it’s been more of a challenge for me. A few months ago on Father’s Day I did the Almac Belfast City 10k with a couple of friends. “If dad was still here, I know he’d be absolutely chuffed that we’re doing this for charity but also thinking that there's no way you can do this Niamh,” she said.
