Patisserie G opened its doors on Beechmount Avenue in 2021 and has become a community hub
A West Belfast cafe has started to provide meals for the elderly after the owner struggled to get a regular food service for her mum.
Now, Grainne and the team are giving back to older members of the local community by creating low-cost dinners for elderly people, with community group Beechmount Residents Collective delivering the meals for free. "We tried to get Meals on Wheels for my mum a few times, but the menu wasn't great and it was hard to get them. Now I've heard their funding is being stopped which is awful, it's a much-needed service, especially for the vulnerable in the community.
"I didn't realise the response was going to be so good so quickly. There are a lot of people in need out there.
