Kind-hearted NHS worker's bid to supply presents and dinner for family's last Christmas with mum
A mum who spends each winter delivering hats and gloves to homeless people is hoping to raise money to give a family a proper last Christmas with their dying mum.
Wanting to still find a way to help, she asked if anyone knew of a family which was struggling this Christmas and would benefit from supports. The NHS worker-year-old said she received a few referrals but was struck by one case involving a family spending their last Christmas with their mum and unable to afford presents. After helping other requests from her own pocket, she is hoping to raise £600 to sort presents and Christmas food for the family.
Claire explained that she has been doing the deliveries for around five years and was also partly inspired by wanting to teach her children to be aware of their situation and that of others. She said: "It also shows my children that not everyone is as fortunate as they are."
