It now costs patients more money to visit the dentist after the NHS increased charges by 8.5 per cent.
Dental treatments under NHS dentists are split into different bandings, from just needing a check-up to something more complicated. The price of a routine check-up, which falls under Band One pricing, has gone up from £23.80 to £25.80, the Mirror reports. If you need a more complicated procedure such as fillings, root canals and removing teeth, which fall under Band Two, you'll now have to fork out £70.70 - up from £65.20.And even more complex Band Three procedures such as crowns, dentures and bridges have gone up from £282.80 to £306.80. It marks the first time NHS dental charges have risen since 2020 as they were frozen due to the pandemic.Covers examination, diagnosis and advice.
