NHI bill signing won't affect business support for govt, lobby says
Business will still look to collaborate with government on energy, crime prevention and logistics, even if NHI is signed into law.
The signing of the National Health Insurance Bill will not detract from businesses' commitment to support government in areas such as energy, crime prevention, and energy, despite strong opposition to the bill. This according to Martin Kingston, the chairperson of Business for South Africa in response to a question from News24 during a joint media briefing from organised business and government on the progress of their collaboration.
"We fully acknowledge that there will be areas where there are different positions and it doesn’t in any way shape or form prevent us from collaborating even indeed in the health space as we proposed we would do," said Kingston.South Africans need to be in the know if we want to create a prosperous future.
