One of South Africa’s 24-hour news channels, Newzroom Afrika, launched its first Nguni language news offering on DStv’s Mzansi Wethu. The intimate launch took place in Sandton on Thursday and was hosted by actress and presenter Thembisa Mdoda.

Viewers will be excited to know that even though Grootboom was meant to be behind the scenes, she will be on the screens for the next six weeks, starting on February 27 as she’ll hold the fort for Pepe who’ll be on maternity leave.I am still in retirement, but we all enjoy retirement in different ways. This is how I chose to spend mine. I was thrilled to accept this challenge. When I looked at these children, I saw people who would embrace this new dawn.
