A New York State school district is covertly pushing a ' social justice agenda' through surveys administered to students, according to a tip received by Crisis in the Classroom (CITC). The Penfield Central School District (Penfield), located in a suburb of Rochester, evaluates students in kindergarten through twelfth grade through the social-emotional learning surveys.
There are three versions of the surveys, with questions escalating in complexity for higher grade levels, according to a review of copies received by CITC. The survey directed at grades 3-5 asks students, among other things, how well they 'get along with students who are different' from them and whether they have a family member who they can 'count on.' Meanwhile, students in grades 6-12 are asked to share how easily they can 'stay in control' when 'pressured' and whether they are 'respectful' of opposing views
