At least 33 states have now detected coronavirus infections

Harsh words for the CDC Governor Andrew Cuomo attacked the CDC on Sunday after announcing another 16 confirmed coronavirus cases in New York. But as Cuomo explained, that number is too low because the state still hasn’t been able to do enough testing to identify more cases. Seven labs in the state were ready to start testing as of Sunday, but couldn’t because they are still waiting for federal approval, Cuomo said.
Scarsdale has closed down all of its public schools On Sunday, the Scarsdale public school district in Westchester County closed all of its facilities until March 18 after a middle-school faculty member tested positive for COVID-19. The district-wide closure was “in an abundance of caution” as recommended by the Westchester County Health Commissioner.
An Uber driver tested positive in Queens — prompting 40 health-care workers to self-quarantine One of the new New York City cases confirmed over the weekend is a 33-year-old Uber driver in Queens. He went to St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway on February 22 with flu symptoms, then was sent home only to return when his symptoms worsened. 40 doctors and nurses from the hospital have self-quarantined themselves as a result of their exposure to the patient.
