SaltWire Network FileINDIAN BAY, N.L. — Police have arrested a 54-year-old man in connection with a fire thatSurveillance footage from the cabin’s property showed a person on a snowmobile in the area when the fire began shortly after 4:30 p.m.
Police said the snowmobile that was seized was a black 2016 Bombardier Ski-Doo Expedition with a homemade rear cargo box containing a white sticker of a duck. New-Wes-Valley RCMP charged and arrested Cator Gerald Stokes, 54, of Cape Freels, following an arson at a cabin near Indian Bay. RCMP said a snowmobile was captured in the area on surveillance around the time of the incident on March 10. - Contributed
New-Wes-Valley RCMP is asking the public to check for any surveillance footage of the snowmobile on or near the trail on March 10 between Cape Freels to Indian Bay between 2-6 p.m. Stokes was held in custody overnight and was scheduled to attend court on March 14 to face an arson charge.
