Dawn Park Police Station has welcomed a new station commander, Lieutenant Colonel Sibushi Makgakga, who brings a wealth of experience in law enforcement to the position.

Makgakga has been serving in the SAPS since 2002 in various positions, including acting station commander at several stations, including Thembisa, Kempton Park, Germiston, Alberton, Elsburg, Sebenza and Thokoza.Her main goals for the next year include ensuring the Dawn Park community receives good service delivery.The station commander said she wanted to build and maintain trust with the community.

To address crime in the areas served by Dawn Park SAPS, Makgakga stated, “I will implement a sector policing strategy involving other stakeholders and will keep the blue lights on during night patrols and monitor Automated Vehicle Location to ensure members patrol their sectors. Upon her arrival at Dawn Park SAPS, Makgakga noted robbery with aggravating circumstances was dominating this policing area.
