The Grade II-listed building on Thurland Street in Nottingham city centre, is being converted into a BOX sports bar
An elegant former bank building in Nottingham is being transformed into a new bar - and it is looking to open in just a few months. , which proprietor ARC Inspirations says will be a "high-quality sports bar to eat, drink, view, play and party".
Construction work is currently taking place, with the interior of the grand building being decorated and hoardings put up. Signs on the hoardings explain the bar is aiming to open in November 2023. The signs also advertise a number of job roles, including bartender, barback, floortender, host, chef and kitchen assistant. ARC Inspirations previously said the BOX bar and a planned 'Manahatta' cocktail bar on Victoria Street, Nottingham city centre would create 200 jobs.
The bar will be spread across the basement, ground and first floor levels of the building, with back of house staff areas and storage space at basement level, the main bar servery and seating areas at ground floor level, and customer toilets and a private dining room at first floor level. Developers have said the physical works will be kept as "light touch as possible" to ensure the historic significance of the site is not harmed.
