As if there weren't already plenty of Boxster and Caymans to choose from...
Nobody can make a pink car look drop-dead gorgeous like Porsche can. In the early 1990s it introduced the world to Rubystar, a deep pink that would normally have people reaching for the nearest chunder bucket, but on a 964 it looks utterly sublime. And there’s been somewhat of a revival for punchy pink hues of late, which has prompted Porsche to release a homage to the magenta marvel with its new Style Edition.
The imaginatively named trim grade introduces Rubystar Neo, a modern twist on the classic colour, which will only be available on the new model. If pink Porsches aren’t your thing, you’ll also be able to choose from the usual 718 colour pallet or spend many thousands on a Paint to Sample.
And that's not all. The Style Edition also comes with the motorsport sticker set that’s available on the 911 range, along with Porsche decals running down the sides. These can be optioned in either white or black, with mirroring wheel finishes, or you can scrap the sticker set all together for a more minimalist look. Not sure why you’d go for a Style Edition if you didn’t want the stripes, but there we go.
To further sweeten the deal, Porsche has included coloured wheel caps, a £114 option on a regular 718, free of charge on the Style Edition, along with other extras such as LED daytime running lights, cruise control and Power Steering Plus. How generous of them. The name’s a bit of a giveaway, but the changes here are purely cosmetic. Both Style Edition models are based on the entry-level
