A new law will require all government meetings in Indiana to be live streamed or recorded. Monday at 6 PM on WRTV KaraKenney6 investigates your rights as a public citizen when it comes to recording public meetings.
The Governor signed the HEA 1167 on May 1, but the new law does not take effect until July 1, 2025.
If a local body of government didn't comply, a constituent could file an Open Door Law complaint to the state’s Public Access Counselor. If there’s a technological failure, the new law says it would not subject any person to civil or criminal liability.
