Thanasagren Rubbanathan Moodley, the founder of the party, officially unveiled the 1860NIC Congress in Durban on Saturday, describing it as a beacon of hope for marginalised minority groups in South Africa. “The future of the party will depend entirely on its electorate. If it is needed, it will thrive. If not, it will cease to exist. My objective is to leave a legacy for my children and their children.
He pointed to what he called the “flawed” implementation of policies such as Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment and the Employment Equity Act, which he claimed discriminated against Indians and other minority groups.
