The Huawei Watch D2 is the world's first smartwatch rated for Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM).
The smartwatch is designed with constant health monitoring in mind, featuring a blood pressure air bag integrated into the watch strap.Huawei announced a flurry of new smartwatches at its latest Innovative Product Launch in Barcelona yesterday, but the most interesting of the lot has to be the Watch D2.
In fact, it’s the world’s first smartwatch rated for Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring , with Huawei already receiving regulatory approval for its use in the European Union and China. It will be interesting to see if such approval will come from South African regulators, but ABPM is 24-hour blood pressure tracking throughout a full sleep-wake cycle.
“Additionally, the HUAWEI WATCH D2 offers comprehensive health monitoring capabilities, including heart rate, blood pressure, blood oxygen, stress, skin temperature, ECG, vascular elasticity, pulse wave arrhythmia, and sleep apnea detection,” it added.
