The bill was condemned by the New Hampshire chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union Thursday.
New Hampshire lawmakers advanced legislation Thursday prohibiting students from competing in sports based on gender identity.in a tight vote of 189-182. The bill's language states gender classifications for school sports purposes will be made based on an athlete’s biological sex as represented on their birth certificate.
The bill now heads to the state's Senate. The New Hampshire chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union condemned the advancement Thursday, calling it "foul."
