Lovers of jazz music will be happy to know that the SA Tribute to Music Heroes Concert is back at Moretele Park in Mamelodi on Saturday after a two-year hiatus Will we see you there?
There is an artist and music for everyone, as the line-up is a mix of the young and old superstars the country has to offer.
She added that, just thinking about the Moretele Park vibes brought her much excitement, and she was particularly looking forward to seeing Claire Johnson of Mango Groove. The kwaai jazz musician, who has won a handful of prestigious awards, said his fans and supports were in for a treat. “I will perform most of the [fan] favourites and also introduce new songs fit to the occasion.
Sam Mhangwani, the executive director and producer of the tribute concert, said that, during the two-year hiatus, the organisers had learnt to plan better. Mhangwani said he looked forward to the new generation of jazz lovers’ enjoyment of the weekend event, and that it was called a tribute concert, instead of a jazz festival, for a reason.
