Almost 200 homes will be built at Hartley Locks in Vauxhall
Everton's new stadium dominates the landscape as you look towards the River Mersey from Hartley Locks.
The £51m apartment development on Lightbody Street in Vauxhall will see 185 apartments, seven commercial units and ten townhouses built by social housing provider Torus. Ground was broken on the development in December 2022 and it continues at pace, with completion expected by spring 2025. Apartments facing towards the river will have views of the Toffees' new home. Meanwhile apartments facing the other way will be treated to views over the city's Northern areas and the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.
"It's its linkage, with Everton's new ground at Bramley-Moore and what's happening at the Titanic, as well as what's come from the Strategic Futures Advisory Panel, you see that this is a piece of the jigsaw that is really important." The Metro Mayor believes that what is happening in the Northern Docks exemplifies that. He said: "Bramley-Moore is going to be totemic as the catalyst for wider regeneration. No more do we and the city council look at things in isolation."It's not about buildings, it's about what's going to be in there.
