New Edition leads the "Legacy Tour" to Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse featuring New Jack Swing stars Guy and Keith SweatCLEVELAND, Ohio - New Edition, a.k.a Ronny, Bobby, Ricky, Mike, Ralph and Johnny are hitting the road in 2023 headlining the “Legacy Tour” featuring some of the top artists of the New Jack Swing era of the late ‘80s and early ‘90s. The tour will stop at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse on Thursday, April 13. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m.
Later in the decade, the group known for their smooth dance moves on stage had hits with Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis-produced songs such as “Sorry, You’re Not My Kind of Girl,” and the slow jam tape staple “Can You Stand The Rain.” Guy, the vocal trio led by super-producer Teddy Riley whose bouncy keyboard led electronic beats, grooves, and hooks gave the sub-genre its name. Riley who wrote and produced major crossover hits including Bell Biv Devoe’s “Poison,” Blackstreet’s “No Diggity” and Guy’s “Groove Me” has reunited with original members Damian Hall and his brother and lead singer Aaron Hall.
