To start with, the now-standard programming note: This week’s edition was originally going to feature the traditional post-May 24th hiatus rundown of the bills the Liberal government absolutely, positively needs to get through the House — and, in some cases, the Senate — before the legislative circuit shuts down for the summer.
Those plans were summarily up-ended, however, by today’s New Democrat-initiated motion, which appears to have come up with a way to keep the China interference file — and, more specifically, the government’s stubborn refusal to reconsider its opposition to setting up a formal public inquiry into the allegations — in the parliamentary spotlight.
