Best start under the bonnet, eh. Cramming a V12 into a Vantage was always an inspired move, and the notion is more appealing than ever with big combustion engines on borrowed time. This Vantage uses the 5.2-litre, twin-turbo V12 also found in the larger DB11 and DBS Superleggera, here with 700hp and 555lb ft, pitching it between the other two and comfortably ahead of the V8 model, which makes 510hp and 505lb ft.
If this new V12 Vantage can be compared to the old model in any way, the modifications point to something much more at the GT12 end of the scale already rather than an 'ordinary' V12. For example, the tracks are 40mm wider than a V8, with new carbon panels cloaking them; spring rate is up 50 per cent at the front, 40 per cent at the rear; and there's now 204kg of downforce at top speed, thanks to the dramatic new bodykit.
