Seeking a skilled Network Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain a robust network security infrastructure, manage security platforms, monitor network traffic, conduct forensic analysis, and ensure compliance. Requires 6-8 years of experience, relevant certifications (CCNP Security, CISSP), and expertise in various security tools and protocols.
The primary responsibility involves designing, implementing, and maintaining a strong and resilient network security infrastructure. This infrastructure is crucial for safeguarding the digital environment of the customer. The role necessitates the adept management and optimization of diverse security platforms.
These include, but are not limited to, firewalls that act as a primary line of defense, intrusion prevention systems (IPS) designed to identify and thwart malicious activity, DDoS mitigation tools to protect against denial-of-service attacks, VPNs for secure remote access, secure email gateways to filter and protect against email-borne threats, and Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for identity and access management. Furthermore, the role requires constant monitoring of network traffic, utilizing advanced tools and techniques to detect anomalies, investigate potential threats, and ensure immediate and appropriate responses to any security incidents that arise. This proactive approach is fundamental to maintaining a secure and stable network environment. Forensic analysis and robust incident response capabilities are essential components of this role. This involves conducting thorough investigations to understand the root causes of security events and providing support during the incident response lifecycle to ensure the timely containment and complete resolution of security breaches. This is critical for minimizing the impact of security incidents and preventing future occurrences. The role also demands strict adherence to cybersecurity policies, ISO/IEC 27002 standards, and all other pertinent regulatory requirements. This commitment to compliance is crucial for maintaining a secure and legally sound operational environment. Additional responsibilities encompass overseeing the entire lifecycle management of digital certificates, ensuring their proper handling and renewal, as well as managing the secure provisioning of third-party network connections to ensure all external access points are secure. Managing and resolving network security requests and incidents through the Remedy system within agreed-upon service levels is also a core duty, ensuring timely and effective issue resolution. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in information security, Computer Science, or equivalent, or matriculation with a suitable combination of experience. The candidate should possess between 6 and 8 years of network security experience, demonstrating a solid foundation in the field. Industry-recognized certifications such as CCNP Security, CISSP, or equivalent are highly desired, showcasing a commitment to professional development and expertise. \This role demands a comprehensive skill set encompassing several key areas. The candidate needs proven experience in managing and maintaining enterprise-grade security infrastructure. This includes expertise in managing the day-to-day operations and upgrades of security platforms, ensuring their optimal performance and resilience. Technical expertise is paramount, requiring in-depth knowledge of network protocols and a solid understanding of Cisco firewall configurations, along with advanced understanding of perimeter defense technologies. This ensures the ability to effectively design, configure, and troubleshoot network security solutions. Proficiency in a wide array of security tools is also essential, including hands-on experience with Web Application Firewalls (WAF), Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), DDoS protection tools, SIEM platforms, and Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE). This technical acumen enables effective monitoring, analysis, and response to security threats. A strong understanding of OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities is essential, alongside the ability to assess, remediate, and mitigate risks across both cloud and on-premise environments. Incident response skills are also crucial. This includes the ability to identify, analyze, and respond to network security incidents and conduct comprehensive forensic investigations. Exceptional troubleshooting and diagnostic skills are needed to quickly identify and resolve complex network security issues. Awareness of cybersecurity frameworks and standards, such as ISO-IEC 27002, is essential, as is a good understanding of regulatory obligations and compliance. The ability to maintain precise technical records, incident logs, and to actively contribute to audit and risk reporting processes is also required. Strong collaboration and communication skills are key to working effectively with other teams and to clearly articulate security issues to non-technical stakeholders. \To summarize, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the customer's network infrastructure. This involves a blend of technical expertise, analytical capabilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Proactive threat detection, swift incident response, and unwavering adherence to security best practices are essential to the role. The individual will contribute to a culture of security awareness, helping to protect the organization from cyber threats. The position offers an opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and to further develop skills within a dynamic and ever-evolving cybersecurity landscape. This role is crucial for maintaining a strong security posture, protecting sensitive data, and supporting the overall success of the customer's operations. The role requires a dedicated and highly skilled professional who can contribute to a robust security framework. The ideal candidate will be passionate about network security and possesses the drive to stay informed on the latest threats and vulnerabilities. Continuous professional development and a proactive approach to security are essential to succeed in this position. The candidate should be able to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong problem-solving and communication skills to navigate the complexities of network security
