Nets Consider Hiring Ime Udoka 'Last-Ditch Effort To Make This Work' - RealGM Wiretap
The Brooklyn Nets are expected to hire Ime Udoka as head coach as they reportedly view him as capable of salvaging their season. Udoka was previously an assistant coach with the Nets and was also an assistant coach with the Philadelphia 76ers where he worked with Ben Simmons.
"This very much is probably for this Nets' group, this iteration, this core, this is probably the last ditch effort to make this work," said Adrian Wojnarowski. The Nets previously traded away control of their upcoming drafts to the Houston Rockets as part of the James Harden deal, which limits the incentives for them to enter into a complete rebuild where they bottom out.
Kevin Durant previously requested a trade while Kyrie Irving very nearly opted out of the final season of his contract.
