NetEase, not Bungie, is developing the mobile game known as Destiny: Rising.
Destiny: Rising is a forthcoming RPG shooter for mobile that takes place before the established classes were created.Destiny: Rising is being developed by Chinese heavyweight NetEase Games as an RPG shooter where players will choose from a selection of heroes to play. The game will be free-to-play which is code for “tons of microtransactions” but how deep that monetisation isn’t clear. If the base game is anything to go by though, the sky is the limit here.

As huge fans ourselves, we are humbled and thrilled for the opportunity to bring gamers an action-packed RPG shooter set within the Destiny Universe.”
We’ll be frank, this looks like more Destiny albeit from a different developer. As for what is different, players will select premade characters that have access to a specific set of weapons and unique abilities. Weapons include Legendary and Exotics as well as a new flavour called Mythic. NetEase looks set to build on Bungie’s arsenal rather than just copy it outright although we did spot the Huckleberry in marketing material.
In terms of gameplay there will be both PvE and PvP activities. On the PvE side there are game modes called Morgran’s Prey, Legacy, and Realms of the IX, none of which alludes to what it is about. There will also be a raid-like activity in Gauntlet Ops. For PvP there is just one activity dubbed Shifting Gates. This is still in early development at this time.
