After a well-deserved and much-needed rest day on Tuesday, the Spar Proteas are back on court on Wednesday in the Netball World Cup as they take on their old foes, New Zealand.
South Africa bounced back from their defeat to Jamaica on Monday with a big win over Trinidad & Tobago despite not having goal shooter, Lenize Potgieter, who was ruled out for the rest of the tournament with an injury. She has been replaced by Owethu Ngubane.
The Silver Ferns also suffered a severe injury blow after their sharp-shooter, Grace Nweke, was ruled out of the rest of the tournament. Ahead of Wednesday’s clash ‘Player of the Match from the Spar Proteas’, Nichole Taljaard said she is not nervous ahead of facing netball giants like New Zealand: • New Zealand have competed at every World Netball Championships and/or Netball World Cup since the inaugural 1963 tournament.
