U.S. officials said before the meeting between Blinken and Netanyahu that Blinken would call on Israeli leaders for temporary pauses in military operations to allow for the safe release of hostages as well as humanitarian aid, including food, medicine and water.“we need to do more to protect Palestinian civilians,” adding, “they will be no partners for peace if they’re consumed by humanitarian catastrophe and alienated by any perceived indifference to their plight.
