The centre has not been seen in the UK for over a month after failing to return to the club when expected.
Nene Macdonald has broken his silence after going AWOL from Leeds Rhinos - insisting he has done nothing wrong. The centre has not been seen for over a month after failing to return to the UK after an arranged leave of absence, leaving his future at the club over.
Macdonald will play for PNG Prime Minister's XIII on Saturday, a day after Leeds' season finishes. However, it would appear he will never play for the club again, with the Rhinos already searching for a replacement. Rohan Smith has confirmed the matter is in the hands of CEO Gary Hetherington. "I'm still contracted and I haven't done anything wrong...we can't make the finals so I'm staying back and getting the chance to play and it's just exciting to be back. It's been too long like 2019 COVID and home and being away in England...miss being here and it's good to be back home."
