Nelson Mandela Bay ratepayers 'benefit nothing' from suspension of city manager - Cogta
The Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs says the paralysis of service delivery in Nelson Mandela Bay continues to be a grave concern for the provincial government.
Cogta said ratepayers in Nelson Mandela Bay would have no real"benefit" from the recent turmoil in the metro which saw the city manager, Noxolo Nqwazi, being suspended on Friday. Pheello Oliphant, spokesperson for the Eastern Cape MEC of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs , Zolile Williams, said the MEC remained concerned that council meetings in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro were more focused on power struggles than service delivery to residents.South Africans need to be in the know if we want to create a prosperous future.
