Using the budget document passed this spring, the UCP is still projecting a surplus of $1.48 billion for this year. This surplus drops to $757 million next year and $37 million in 2025-26.
“We’ve put Alberta in a position where we have some flexibility to survive the ups and downs when it comes to oil and gas,” he said. “We’re very confident in the numbers in our platform.” Most of its spending will start on the party’s addictions plans this year, with operating costs for the Tsuut’ina and Siksika Nations treatment centres the only items to not start this year.
