Residents have complained
Residents in a Nottinghamshire village have complained of sewage spilling onto a main road, saying it makes them "think of medieval times". Foul smells and "mushed-up" toilet paper have been reported in Westdale Lane near its junction with Main Road, Gedling.
"I couldn't believe it when I saw it," she said. "There's raw sewage, people have seen mushed-up toilet paper coming out of the drain."It flows out of the drain and along the pavement. It smells pretty bad but some kids might not realise and walk through it thinking it's just water. Dogs could walk through it and walk it into people's homes."
"It shouldn't be happening for one day. It's sickening and it's really detrimental to the area. Sometimes it even runs down into the main road.
