TRURO, N.S. — A group of neighbours decided to spread some Christmas cheer of their own in Truro’s west end on Dec. 16.
While a crowd of people stood by the porch of the Smith Avenue house, singing carols and chatting amongst each other, children ran around the property, eager to make the most of the big lawn they had to play on. Last year’s door-to-door caroling event was a hit, with the group raising over 760 lbs of food and $150 for the food bank. This year, they managed to haul in over 232 lbs of food, and raised over $700 including gift cards.
Guitarist Corey Matheson was in attendance, playing tunes on his acoustic for the crowd to carol to. He also spoke of the importance of giving to the food bank this year.
