The visitors handed a debut to new signing Mbombi, while Sibongiseni Mthethwa and Juan Ortiz were handed their debuts for Stellies after joining last month.
The game got off to a lively start, with Junior Mendieta getting through to Baroka defence on nine minutes however the Stellies midfielder was denied by Elvis Chipezeze. The hosts were made to rue that miss as Baroka broke the deadlock on 72 minutes substitute Thami Masiya intercepted a poor back pass before rifling the ball past Sage Stephens just seconds after his introduction.
