Issik issued a concession statement on social media Tuesday.“It was a privilege to speak with thousands of Glenmore residents in the last year. They’re concerned about our healthcare system, the strain of cost of living on their families, and the future of our economy.
Issik conceded the contest in a Twitter post on Tuesday. She congratulated Al-Guneid and said Elections Alberta’s recount process was “fair and well done.” The results, however, are not yet official. Elections Alberta says it cannot confirm the tally provided by the NDP as the UCP still have until Thursday to appeal the recalculation. The agency plans to release the results for the riding on Friday, unless there’s an appeal.Article content
