Free shuttle service to Gatineau Park from locations in Ottawa and Gatineau starts Oct. 1.
Starting Saturday until Sunday, Oct. 23, Gatineau Park parkways will be open for active use on weekdays until 12 noon. The NCC cautioned that, because of the usual heavy traffic during Fall Rhapsody, motorists could expect temporary closures and lineups. A better bet for many is the free NCC shuttle service from Ottawa-Gatineau. This year the shuttle service will be operated by a school bus provider because of ongoing staffing shortages at the usual provider, the Société de transport de l’Outaouais. One route will operate during Fall Rhapsody. There will be one pickup location in downtown Ottawa, at the Canadian War Museum, and one in downtown Gatineau, at the Canadian Museum of History.Oct. 1 to Oct. 23 and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The school buses are not accessible as they have stairs and narrow aisles. However, an accessible shuttle for people with reduced mobility will also be available. The itinerary will be flexible, based on the passengers’ desired stops.
