Golden State Warriors will be seeking to add an NBA-ready player in Thursday’s draft
last month for one of his many pre-draft workouts. He believes he would be a “perfect fit” for Golden State and was eager to potentially learn from Draymond Green and Gary Payton II on defense.Jaquez is one of the more seasoned players projected to go in the first round of this year’s draft, having spent the last four seasons developing his game at UCLA.
As a senior, Jaquez led the Bruins in points and rebounds and carried UCLA to a Pac-12 title and Sweet 16 appearance. He leaves behind a legacy in Westwood as a Bruins fan favorite who, as a sophomore, helped UCLA to its first Final Four appearance in a decade.Jazquez has the tool kit to be a quality role player as soon as next season. He generally has a well-rounded offensive game — a good passer, playmaker and shot creator. Many have noted his court vision and natural feel for the game.
As a senior, Murray averaged 20.2 points and 7.9 rebounds shooting 33.5% from 3 on 6.8 attempts per game and 48 percent from the field. Seen as a potential shooter at the NBA level, it should be noted that Murray hit 73% of his free throws.Murray would bring size with the potential to space the floor for a Warriors team in desperate need of a player in that mold. Murray’s strengths at Iowa would be perfect for the Warriors’ motion offense.
