Nazem Kadri shoots for the stars, with time for a vacation, at NHL All-Star weekend Flames

Kadri’s inclusion in the all-star game is a nice reward for a solid half season of work from the Flames’ prized free-agent acquisition from last summer. After winning the Stanley Cup with the Avs, the centre signed a seven-year deal with the Flames worth US$49 million.

“I’ve kind of rubbed shoulders with a lot of the guys and we’ve crossed paths at some point in time, so it’s nice to have that history and catch up,” Kadri said. “It’s super loose and casual and light. In a game setting during the regular season, you can’t really be loose and laid back, so it’s fun to do.”

Speaking last week, Kadri listed the accuracy shooting as his preferred competition, and the NHL wound up granting him his wish.Article content They’ve got work to do to secure a playoff spot in the final 32 games of the season, but are very much within striking distance of the teams ahead of them in the standings.
