Photo provided by Regina Mullen.Three U.S. Navy officers who oversaw the training of a candidate from New Jersey who died of acute pneumonia after completing the first portion of “Hell Week,” have been disciplined, according to a report.
Performance-enhancing drugs were not a factor in Mullen’s death, the NSWC said in announcing the results of an investigation. “NSW remains committed to transparency and we welcome the opportunity to review our assessment and selection programs, and help us look for additional ways to improve and prevent this kind of tragedy from happening again,” Naval Special Warfare Command, Rear Adm. Keith Davids said Wednesday.
